Wedding at Casa Romantica

August 29, 2010 By: Don Panzik Category: Wedding Stories

Did a wonderful wedding last night at Casa Romantica in San Clemente. This was a referral from Stephanie Fordyce who’s wedding I did some time back… thank you Stephanie!
The beautiful couple who was married yesterday was Kelly and Erik Woolman. Their first dance song was “My Best Friend” by Tim McGraw. The father/daughter dance was “My Little Girl” also by T. McGraw. The mother/son dance was “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong.
The party went up until 10:00 sharp (town curfew). We did the traditional cake cutting, bouquet toss, garter removal and the honeymoon dance with shots of tequila.
Kelly was absolutely radient. One of the most beautiful brides I’ve every seen! I would like to wish the couple a fantistic life together… Don

Hiring a DJ

August 25, 2010 By: Don Panzik Category: Events

If you’re planning a party out, why not hire a DJ. DJ’s can be a great investment to keep your event rolling. You can pick out your favorite music, have it perfectly orchestrated to suit the mood… just try that with your ipod. Plus a good DJ can emcee and keep your party alive watching the pulse of every moment.

Here’s a scenario a DJ might experience that you’ll be thankful you’ve hired a DJ…

The dance floor is dead. Ugghh. You thought for sure everyone would like to hear Beyonce “Single Ladies” you had cued up on your mobile device. You knew for sure the place was going to light up light a Christmas tree at the first of December. Not this time. Yikes!

Now if you had a Pro DJ, he or she might simply have 3 other songs cued up 1) a slow one, 2) a hip-hop and 3) a country swing. Your DJ notices a lot of couple in the room who don’t want to be out there with everyone staring them down (at least not yet). DJ hits the slow song. Good choice. In less than 20 seconds the dance floor is packed with loving couples. Maybe we should have another slow one lined up in the next cue, just in case we need the double whammy.

Okay you ipod jocks out there… how are YOU going to handle it?

I’m just getting setup using Posterous for my DJ web sites, blogs and social media. I used ping.fm before, but feel that Posterous is the way to go!
